Our Story
Making Content Easier to Follow — for Everyone
Olwen Bright was set up to help content teams in Malaysia bring clarity and care to captions and image descriptions, without losing the human voice that makes communication work.

Started by Practitioners, Not Theorists
Olwen Bright came out of a simple observation: caption and alt-text tools were getting better, but teams still weren't using them well. The output was often flat, contextless, or quietly wrong in ways that mattered to the people it was meant to help.
We set up shop at KL Sentral to work directly with content and communications professionals — people who write and edit for a living. Our job isn't to hand over a tool and walk away. It's to sit with your workflow, understand what your content does, and set things up so the human review step actually catches what it needs to catch.
We keep the team deliberately small so each client gets our full attention. Every engagement produces written documentation your team can use long after the work is done.

The Team
People You'll Actually Work With
We're a small team. That's deliberate — it keeps the work personal and the communication direct.

How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
These aren't aspirations — they're the conditions we set for every piece of work we deliver.
Human Review, Every Time
No caption or alt-text helper output leaves a client's workflow without a human checking it. We make sure that step is built into the process, not treated as optional.
Written Deliverables Always
Every engagement produces a written summary, checklist, or guide. Verbal-only handovers don't serve teams well — everything we do gets put on paper.
Data Handled with Discretion
Client content samples are reviewed only for the purpose of the engagement and are not retained or shared. We follow PDPA guidelines throughout.
Scope Agreed Before We Start
We discuss what's included in each service before work begins. No scope creep, no surprise additions, no invoices that don't match what was discussed.
Training That Sticks
Training sessions are designed for the people who will actually use the tools — not a general overview. We tailor content to your team's existing workflow.
Plain Communication
We don't use technical language to sound more credible. If something is unclear, we say so. If a tool doesn't fit your workflow, we'll tell you that too.
Our Approach
Why Caption and Alt-Text Quality Matters to Us
Content accessibility isn't a checklist to complete before launch. For many people — those using screen readers, those watching video without sound in a noisy environment, those working across languages — the quality of a caption or image description is the difference between understanding something and missing it entirely.
Most caption and alt-text tools produce a starting point, not a finished product. Left unchecked, that output gets published and nobody notices until a reader does. The human review step exists to catch what tools can't — the tone of a caption that doesn't match the rest of the piece, the alt-text that describes what's visible but not what it means in context, the automated transcript that mangles a name or acronym.
Olwen Bright works with communications teams, content departments, and digital publishing teams across Kuala Lumpur and the wider Malaysian market. Our clients include teams producing regular video content, organisations running multiple social channels, and companies that need to bring their internal content into line with their accessibility commitments.
We operate out of Plaza Sentral in KL Sentral because it puts us close to the professionals we work with — close enough for a face-to-face session when that's more useful than a video call.
